I was going to post about something.

Gladiolus callianthus. I wish I could grow. But it apparently gets just a bit too cold here.
Phlox.
Phlox subulata 'Coral Eye' and 'Sapphire Blue'; Phlox douglasii 'Admiral White'.
Saxifraga x arendsii.

No, you don't need to understand any of that.
All you need to know is that they're kinds of flowers that I would like to grow, sometime in the near future, if not now.
The only challenge is finding seeds from which to grow them.
Walmart has some already grown.
But.
It's Walmart. The plants are in very poor condition, and probably won't last very long upon being transplanted.

The side gardens are in desperate need of weeding.

THERE'S A CROCUS!!!
I've been almost obsessively searching for crocus bulbs, to plant in the yard.
With no results whatsoever.
NO one has had them.
Then it rained Friday.
And they popped up.

The Crocuses.

Royal purple with a touch of white in their throats, they gazed heaven-ward, almost seeming to be reaching, the way a child reaches up trying to touch the sky.
Then it rained even harder. And now they're not in bloom. But now I know they're there, and I'll have to wait until autumn before digging them up and dividing the baby roots from the parent. EEEEEE!!! I'm so excited!!
Possibly . . . Crocus biflorus var. taurii. Aka Scotch crocus.
Or maybe Crocus tommasinianus. Early crocus.

Other than that, there have been other flowers popping up that no one deliberately planted there. Little white flowers popping up next to the purple azalea, on the shady side. Big fat clover leaves all over the place. I think they're loving the rainy weather, or something. They seem to be most alive on days it rains. But there's also this other plant . . . I don't even know what it is. I've found a few branches sticking right out of the purple azalea, and another couple branches firmly entrenched in the driveway lot.
I know I'm going to have to dig up both the evening primrose and the bleeding hearts that have been growing there. Wouldn't want them going wild in the neighborhood, especially considering how invasive AND poisonous the primrose can be. I don't want the neighborhood critters dying of eating the stuff.
Then there's these bulb plants popping up. I don't know what they are, as yet. Won't know until they bloom, which . . . I have a feeling won't be until early to mid summer.
Mom wants to move the Russian sage bush. Not sure where it might be put, though.

MY HERBS!!!
Little teeny tiny sprouts!!
No pictures right now.
But I just planted them on Thursday night!! They grew fast!
In the meantime, the plant that I'm pretty sure is the lavender is ready to be moved. But every time I HAVE time, either I don't feel like it, or I end up having to do something else.

Erm.

I also planted some others, which I can't remember right now.
